Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) is a chapter of the national IMA organization that involves University of Maine students in learning about the accounting field and network with other accounting and finance students. IMA hosts guest speakers, participates in national leadership conferences, and assists students in developing their professional accounting skills.

University of Maine President Clarence Little and Carolyn Colvin, Dean of Women, founded the All Maine Women Honor Society in 1925. Members of the society are distinguished leaders, scholars, and outstanding female role models, are active in community service, display MAINE spirit, and have the potential for continued service to UMaine. All Maine Women is the highest all-inclusive honor society to which a University of Maine woman can belong and AMW are pledged to uphold and promote the ideals, standards, and traditions of the University. Members can be distinguished by their special pins, sweaters and small pine tree worn on their right cheeks one day each week. Members are considered the consummate role modles for UMaine women.

Hosting significant collegiate ceremonies, including commencements and inaugurations, when called upon to do so by the University of Maine.
Assisting the President, Vice-Presidents, and Deans in roles that provide visibility and leadership opportunities while also serving the needs of the student body and the University.
Assisting the Alumni Association in ways that help to preserve, protect, and promote University traditions.
Commitment to activities that allow the Society members to raise money to help underwrite the cost of AMW programs and services.
Provide at least one scholarship per year to recognize the outstanding scholarship accomplishments of incoming members.
Encourage continued leadership and role modeling among members of other honor societies.

ASCE is one of the lowest maintenance clubs you can join-all we ask is that you show up! By attending meetings you'll gain valuable insight into our profession, network with individuals and firms who are usually looking to hire directly from UMaine, engage with your peers and make new friends. You will also gain access to membership with ASCE as an international organization (completely free for students) and all of the opportunities and resources that come with that. We hold weekly meetings on Wednesday at 12pm in 309 Boardman Hall where we have a speaker come present on a topic and have pizza! Topics can be focused on soft skills, such as resume and interview workshops, the many resources offered by the Career Center, or students speaking about internship experiences. They also be technical, such as landslide case studies, the process of building new bridges in residential areas, landfill management and enviornmental remediation, powerplant retrofitting and updating, and much much more. We also coordinate social events and volunteer opportunities throughout the semester. Membership dues are $20/semester and $30/year.

ASME participates in a wide variety of engineering related activities. We host local club comptetitions to promote design and building, two very important aspects to mechanical engineering. Some of the projects we have done in the past are catapults, RC boats, bottle rockets, cardboard canoes and a coaster car. The projects provide members with hands on experience that is not gained in the classroom. ASME also goes on tours of engineering facilities to educate students on what it's like to be a real engineer. We volunteer at the engineering expo every year to get young students interested in our field. We provide tutoring and resume help to members when it's needed. We have had speakers come in to discuss their careers with us.

The mission of the UMaine Argentine Tango Club is to learn and share Argentine Tango, the wonderful partner dance popular worldwide. We accept all levels of dance experience. You are welcome even if you have no dance background at all! We teach basic to intermediate Argentine Tango to our members, and for those who are especially committed there is an opportunity to participate in the International Dance Festival and the fall/spring Dance Showcase.
