We are a Catholic student organization affiliated with the University of Maine. We are based out of the Newman Center (83 College Ave, Orono), which is affiliated with the Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord. Black Bear Catholic is fortunate to have FOCUS missionaries and a chaplain associated with our organization. The Diocese of Portland holds Mass in the Bangor Room in the Union at 5pm every Sunday

Our mission is to have movements everywhere so that everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus. We are a Christian community on campus who talk and share the bible, and we also do a variety of fun events like game nights and retreats.

The University of Maine Hillel is the Jewish Student Organization on campus. No religious observation is required to join us! We plan cultural and social events, help connect students to religious services and Jewish learning opportunities, and provide a welcoming environment for students to explore and engage with Judaism culturally, religiously and socially.

Hillel gives students the opportunity to meet and engage with other Jewish students at UMO and across the UMaine system. Joining Hillel gives students the opportunity to attend the annual shabbaton with Colby College, attend shabbat dinners, and have large celebrations for Jewish holidays. Hillel also has a relationship with the Judaic Studies minor and regularly brings Jewish speakers and cultural events to campus.

The UMaine Interfaith Group is a community-oriented organization led by undergraduate students from different religious and spiritual backgrounds. We strive to create spaces where persons of different perspectives can come together to celebrate diversity, learn from each other, and collaborate on service projects. In a time marked by division, we hope to cultivate peace and understanding both for our members and the community as a whole. The Interfaith Group is closely affiliated with the Wilson Center, and shares its values of Spiritual Exploration and Multifaith Dialogue. Membership is open to all graduate, undergraduate, faculty, and community members who wish to join our group!

Mission
The UMaine Navigators are a Christian campus ministry, the local collegiate chapter of the larger international organization of The Navigators. The UMaine Navigators offers a place of community and friendship while studying the Scriptures and learning more about living the Christian walk during this period of life. There are weekly meetings where we learn as a group (and also includes some food and games), typically at 7PM on Thursdays in the Union, as well as weekly men's and women's Bible Studies. Additionally, the UMaine Navigators provides one-on-one mentorship and discipling, areas of leadership growth, as well as conferences, retreats, and other activities that range from community service to team and leadership building.

Ratio Christi meets regularly to discuss culturally relevant issues related to history, science, and philosophy and ask how they pertain to various religious worldviews with an emphasis on Christianity. Further, through campus-wide events, we will encourage all students and faculty to interact with Christian thinkers on an objective, intellectual basis. We also will attempt, at least once per year, to create a platform for Christian and non-Christian thinkers to interact with the academy at large in the form of a public discussion, lecture or debate.
